Joined by the common motivation to build professional networks and skills to prepare for, respond to, mitigate against, and recover from disasters, a group of women (and one man) created a forum to strengthen women's presence and excellence in emergency management.

Our Mission is to help women advance their careers through networking, mentoring, and promoting educational opportunities in the field of emergency management.

Our Vision is  creating opportunity for women to empower themselves in emergency management.

We established 3 Goals for our organization:

1. Promote the presence of women in the field of emergency management

2. Provide robust Associate services

3. Establish EMPOWER as a recognized thought leader in emergency management
