EMPOWER CEM® Study Program EMPOWER is pleased to announce our 4th annual session of the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM®)/Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) Study Circle Program, launching Tuesday, January 17, 2012. This program is offered for free to EMPOWER Associates. Participation is limited to 20 people, and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
Concept of the Program The CEM Study Circle connects those working toward the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) CEM or AEM certifications. The program helps participants understand each component of the CEM application, and face the CEM exam with confidence. In addition to providing moral support, the regularly scheduled study circles help participants take incremental steps toward full completion of their application. Our program helps break down the application process into manageable tasks, and provides an element of accountability when meeting with a peer group to maintain application momentum.
The group meets virtually using teleconference and file sharing technology to engage in peer review discussions, review, debate, and to offer constructive feedback on application drafts. In addition, we arrange time with CEM Commissioners for periodic question and answer sessions based on questions raised during the study circle.
Session Schedule CEM Study Circle sessions will be held on Tuesdays at 12:30 PM Eastern time/9:30 am PST on the following dates in 2012:
This schedule allows for package completion by mid-August, 2012, the fall application submission deadline.
