The Emergency Management Professional Organization for Women in Emergency Management (EMPOWER) www.empower-women.com invites you to a one hour, interactive Webinar on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, beginning at 12:00 Noon Eastern time (please convert to your local time). This program is presented in partnership with EMForum.org, and both men and women are welcome to participate.
This live presentation will report on a nationwide survey that examined the most effective leadership styles in each phase of the EM life cycle. Numerous challenges face management and staff in local, state, and federal government in today's EM environment and EM practitioners must adapt a variety of leadership styles depending on the phase in which they are engaged and the related circumstances. The session will address how leadership styles influence the work environment and impact EM organizations, as well as motivational theories, tools, and approaches for developing leadership aptitude.
The discussion will be led by Kelly Discount, MBA, PMP, President of EMPOWER and management consultant in the public sector for over ten years. Ms. Discount is a recent graduate of Strayer University’s MBA program, where she conducted research on adaptive leadership in emergency management. She will welcome your questions and comments during the Q&A portion of the program.
Please make plans to join us and feel free to extend this invitation to your colleagues. No advance registration is required.
