EMPOWER CEM® Study Program
EMPOWER is pleased to announce our next session of the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM®) Study Circle Program, launching February 23, 2010. This program is offered for free to EMPOWER Associates in good standing. Participation is limited to 20 people, and registration is on a first come, first served basis.
Concept of the Program
The CEM Study Circle connects those working toward the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) CEM certification and helps them understand each component of the CEM application, prepare a successful application package, and face the CEM exam with confidence. In addition to providing moral support, the regularly scheduled study circles will help participants take incremental steps toward full completion of their application.
The group meets virtually using teleconference and file sharing technology to engage in peer review discussions and review, debate, and offer constructive feedback on application drafts. In addition, we will work to arrange time with a CEM Commissioner for periodic question and answer sessions based on questions raised during study circle meetings.

This schedule allows for package completion by September 3, 2010, the fall application submission deadline. The program is open to all EMPOWER Associates interested in attaining their CEM.
