Welcome to Empower Women

Empowerment: the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.
We realized there was a need for women to have support and empowerment quite a few years ago. We would meet with couples and watch as the women in the room hardly spoke. They asked little to no questions, seemed disengaged, and we wondered why? This is their money and in many cases her money, she must have some wishes, wants, or hopes. Why isn’t she speaking up? But in a room full of men it can be tough to get a word in edgewise. So we began to ask these women questions after the meetings or before. We’d casually talk with them and ask questions here and there. We then began to offer a quick chat or coffee one on one. It was like the gates opened. They had so much to say and so much purpose for their money. It wasn’t just how much can I make, it was can I take care of us, can I take care of my children or our parents? Lots of worry and concern but it was never about her.
About two years ago we had the idea to start the Empower Women Series. We wanted to truly empower women, to connect them and get them to engage with each other by learning about things they were interested in. It was created to bring women from all walks of life together in a safe, judgment-free environment. We want women to feel comfortable to speak out and ask questions. The only two rules are no question is a stupid one and you have to be a woman. Sorry guys!
Each event covers a new topic, sometimes it’s a money topic other times it’s not. We have speakers ranging from health and wellness to financial planning, taxes, and so much more. We bring in experts in to share their knowledge and experiences on these topics in an intimate setting which allows for open discussion.
Our mission is to encourage women to feel empowered and supported. There is a growing movement of women’s empowerment. We are standing up and speaking out on our rights in employment, relationships, and society and we are excited to be a part of it. By embarking on this journey we are helping to give women a voice. We have been able to reach so many women through this series and by creating this blog we are able to reach so many more. Come be vulnerable, ask for help, gain knowledge, and access to resources. We hope you can join our talks every second Tuesday of the month, and if not please follow our blog so that you can keep up to date with all our events and posts.
